Kairosoft sneaks two New Games onto Google Play

Kariosoft is the sneakiest (in a good way) company in gaming as they tend to drop games randomly without any warning. Watching for the Japanese versions is generally the best way to see what’s coming and this month two new Kairosoft titles have appeared in the market with Card Change and Shining Kairobot.

Manastone unleashes Toy Defender for Android

Toy Defender is an odd new Tower Defense game from Manastone. You might be thinking, “What’s so strange about it?” and that’s a valid questions so I’ll tell you. This Tower Defense game involves an innocent baby, demons, and toys which has definitely got to be the first time a Tower Defense game (or possibly any game) has combined those three things together.

Quinton Rampage Jackson and Medl Mobile bring Rampage Punch to Android

One of the first Android apps I downloaded when I got a smartphone was a punching meter, fast forward 2 years later and I’m downloading Rampage Punch from Medl Mobile. What makes this punching app better than the rest? Rampage Punch has its own star and spokesman known as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson… oh yeah!

  • Get Creative with Phyzicle Sandbox for Android

If you enjoy creative Android games, there’s a brand new you’ll want to get called Phyzicle Sandbox from Agop Shirinian. Phyzicle is a 2D physics-based sandbox game that lets you build contraptions and have some good old fashioned physics fun.

Phyzicle gives you a nice palette to build your contraptions by letting you create shapes and constraints. You can make circles, rectangles, and squares then you’ll use a constraint tool to attach objects to one another. There’s a nice tutorial to walk you through things, and I would definitely recommend reading it as there’s a lot to take in and learn. Every object you create can be adjusted as you can tweak settings like elasticity, friction, and density. You can also change an items color, make it a “static” object (don’t forget that one) and even turn solids into liquid. There are literally tons of different things you can do; …

  • Unofficial Samsung Galaxy S III Battery Tests Reveal Promising Results

One of the pressing concerns of many smartphone buyers is not only will it be upgraded to the latest software in the future, but how does its battery fare under real world conditions?  The Samsung Galaxy S III is definitely a great phone on paper, but can it be separated from its charger for more than a couple of hours when using LTE and running multiple tasks?

The guys over at GSMArena were recently able to run some tests on the device in order to gauge how well its battery could perform.  The results are promising, but it is important to remember the smartphone being tested is not LTE and runs on an Exynos quad-core processor, instead of the United State’s GSIII variant’s Qualcomm dual-core processor.

In continuous 3G talk time, it had a battery life of 10 hours and 20 minutes, which was 4th among leading smartphones.  In video …

  • Find Everything Cool with Fancy for Android

Everyone likes cool gear whether it’s the latest gadget or funky home décor. If you’re into everything cool there’s an Android app you’ll want to check out called Fancy from thingd.

Fancy is kind of a cross between a magazine, blog and social media tool. The app allows you to browse for all sorts of cool swag and it’s all broken down nicely into categories like kids, pets, gadgets, art, food, and crafts just to name a few. Basically if you’re want to look for a jacket, an art print or a soap dispenser chances are you can find it. You can really find some cool stuff out there and it’s not your typical kind of gear either. A few things that stuck out to me where Facebook connected clothes hangers, dermal implant iPod magnets, dog dragon hoodie, and instant drunk quantum sensation spray. When you find something you like …

There isn’t much out there, but there is a nice trivia game from Eternus Entertainment simply dubbed Game of Thrones Trivia…

    Gameplay & Features

At first glance Game of Thrones Trivia appears to be a simple trivia game, but once you fire it up you’ll quickly find out there’s more meets the eye. • Pocket formerly Read It Later Android App Review

I remember using Read It Later when it was released for Android not so long ago. But I used it just once and never looked at the app since then. That was then, but recently, Read It Later was renamed and relaunched as the app called – Pocket. I immediately installed the app and so far I find it more enticing to use. I don’t what the developers did to the app but I can see myself using it more now than before.

    What is Pocket?

For those who have not heard or used Read It Later before, what is now known as the Pocket Android app is a pretty nifty app for saving and viewing articles while  you Android phone or tablet is online so that you can read it later at your own leisure time. Pocket syncs what you saved with your phone, tablet or computer so that …

  • Quick Review – Shadow Cave: The Escape

We’ve covered game maker Artbit in the past for their efforts on the wickedly fun Shane Reaction, and now we’re looking at an older title of theirs called Shadow Cave: The Escape. There aren’t any zombies in this one, but it does a moody unique setting just like Shane Reaction…

Shadow Cave: The Escape takes you on a journey through dark & mysterious caves and your only goal is to escape. You’ll basically trace a path through the caves with your finger and your little character represented by a ball of light will follow along behind you. It actually starts out pretty easy, but it doesn’t take long before you encounter deadly traps and gear driven devices that can help or hinder you along the way. There’s even a “big boss” battle at the end, and true to the title he’s pretty damned big. There are only 9 caves in …

  • Soar through Space as a Sloth in FPO’s Star Sloth for Android

Sloths are known for a lot of things, and being lazy is one of them. Such is the case in Star Sloth from FPO Projects which follows a sleepy little sloth on his cheeseburger delivery route through the galaxy. Yup, you read that right… a cheeseburger delivering space sloth.

Star Sloth follows the story of a lazy Sloth who’s tasked with delivering cheesburgers to scores of little astronauts drifting through space. We all know that sloths are slow, but luckily this sloth rides a rocket so he’s faster than most. Whenever you see a customer you have to “fire” a cheeseburger their way; if you miss them they tend to get a little irate so you’ll want to try and hit everyone you see. You’ll also encounter obstacles along the way in the form of mines, black holes, and the tricky burger thief that flies in and steals your burgers …

  • Wrigley releases Candy Sports for Android

    Overview

We’ve always been taught not to play with our food, but what about candy? Candy Sports is a new Android Game from the folks at Wrigley that makes it fun to play with food and you won’t even have to deal with the mess when you’re done.

Candy Sports lets you hit the field and the court as you try and smash homers, kick field goals, and sink buckets.  Skittles baseball lets you swing for the fences; you’ll have to hit 5 homers to advance to the next round and you’ll get 5 levels. Starburst Football lets you kick a pigskin through the uprights, and basketball lets you shoot hoops; all three games have the same hit 5 to advance rule and it looks like you’ll get a total of 5 levels of play through the 3 games. The games all get progressively harder as you go; you’ll start …

Building Games are quiet popular, and there are many choices out there to choose from. With that in mind we’ve created a list of the 5 New Building Games that may have slipped under your radar. Whether you want to play with Dinosaurs, go underwater, or build habitats for Monsters we’ve got you covered.

    1. Monster Park

Kiwi Inc is a newcomer to the building game genre, but they’ve already put out two quality titles with Woodland Adventures and Monster Park. Monster Park is very cool for a few different reasons – the graphics, the “monster tower”, and well… the monsters of course! • Flipboard app sneaks into Android unofficially

When Samsung announced the Galaxy SIII, one of the things or apps that caught the attention many was Flipboard mobile app running on it. Flipboard in case you’re not aware is a very popular news reader app which was released for the iPad. For its Android iteration, it was mentioned that Flipboard will become available exclusive for the Samsung Galaxy SIII. Well, at least for a couple of months.

That’s not the case anymore today. If you can’t wait that long until the exclusivity to Galaxy S III expires, you can download the app right now on your Android smartphone. Thanks to the kind folks from XDA-Developers forum, the Flipboard .apk was shared and is probably enjoying tons of downloads as we speak.

Despite being unofficial, the Flipboard app runs smoothly as a butter on my Galaxy Note. The swipe gesture runs smoothly and news headlines have those large …

  • NBC Universal releases the Battleship: Destroyer Experience Movie Tie-In

As the summer blockbuster movies start to roll out, so do the movie tie-in games. NBC Universal is the latest to get in on the action with their new Android game called Battleship: Destroyer Experience. As most of you already know Movie Tie-In games can… well they can suck to be honest. As cool as a Battleship game might seem there’s a good possibility it will sink like a stone.

The Battleship: Destroyer Experience looks to be a hidden object game of sorts that lets you roam around the USS John Paul Jones destroyer from the movie. The ship is decked out with the latest in high-tech gear and you’ll have to explore four environments to find hidden clips from the film. The “game” has 16 exclusive clips hidden throughout the ship; there are four in each environment and you can explore things with multiple camera angels throughout the ship. …
